Completing the square is a method used to solve quadratic equations and rewrite them in vertex form.

Method

For $a{x}^2+bx+c=0$, rewrite as: ${\left(x+\frac{b}{2a}\right)}^2=\frac{b^2-4ac}{4a^2}$
